Operated by the Mayor's Office and the Division of Communications, JC1TV is a cable station that keeps a full focus on Jersey City, broadcasting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until noon. The rest of the broadcast week on Channel 1 is under the dominion of the Jersey City Board of Education.
JC1TV presents viewers with original programming and unparalleled access to information about municipal services, events, opportunities and leaders in neighborhoods across the city. It is, however, only available to city homes with COMCAST cable television.
The exciting strides taken by JC1TV, which by industry standards is a young channel, have been ahead of schedule in the areas of original programming, which has already drawn acclaim from broadcast peers. JC1TV presents a balanced lineup highlighting the best of the city, along with Jersey City’s challenges, plans and opportunities. It regularly showcases city government, institutions, organizations and neighborhoods and introduces viewers to city leaders and landmarks. The channel also features news and information residents can use in their lives and in their communities.
