Ever since receiving his first computer at the age of 8, Mahmoud Dahhan had a passion for the ever-changing world of technology. Throughout his childhood he has become very computer literate while maintaining, repairing, and even upgrading his computer past factory specifications through “modding” and overclocking. His #1 rule is dive in and experiment or “mess” with it. However, he didn’t blossom until enrolling in Snyder High School’s Media Arts High Tech Program where all the major “experiments” took place.
The Media Arts High Tech Program opened doors and opportunities that he could never have achieved on his own. Due to the fact it was a multimillion dollar facility, he felt like “a kid in a candy store” with all the high-tech equipment at his disposal. Absorbing all he could from expert “real-world” instructors and engineers, he became very enveloped in multimedia, which includes filming, editing, graphic design, web development, 3D animation, and television/sound production.
After graduating from Snyder High School, Mahmoud was a freelancing cameraman covering a gamut of events, everything from the NBA draft to NFL pro-games. He has even shot interviews of stars such as, Bill Bellamy, John Earl Jones, Tim Reid, as well as other prevalent actors and pro-athletes.
Currently, he is employed by the City of Jersey City for the municipal side of Channel 1. In addition to filmng and editing, he also handles all the technical aspects of maintaining a television studio. Lastly, he is pursuing engineering degrees at NJIT.
